Fold and Stretch, 2016

24 minute performance with 3 dancers, 180kg dough

Developed with bread baker Martha Brown and Choreographer Lucy Suggate over the course of a month investigating the physicality of dough and its relationship to the body, movement and dance. Working with their own body weight in dead dough, the performers carry out a series of movements inspired by how the body moves when we make bread, the dough becomes more yeasty and alive through contact with the performers bodies and their surroundings.
